The Red Admiral has a characteristic brown base colour, and can also be recognized due to its red bands as well as the black and white spotted tips of the forewings.

Did you know?

The Red Admiral is often found in urban areas, such as gardens or parks, and is not easily disturbed through human presence. Especially in autumn, the Red Admiral is a frequent visitor to orchards, where it feeds on the juices from rotten fruit.
