The peacock butterfly is easily recognizable due to its rusty-red base colour and a distinctive black, blue and yellow eyespot on each wingtip.
Did you know?
Similar to other brush-footed butterflies (or four-footed butterflies), the caterpillars of the Peacock butterfly live only on nettles. If you do not remove your nettles in a small unmanaged area of your garden, then, with a little bit of luck, you could soon observe this beautiful butterfly in your garden.
