Observation data portal for experienced naturalists

If you want to share your nature observations on a regular basis, we recommend that you create a personal account.

A personal account makes data entry and administration easier. It enables you to record lists of species that you observed at one site on a single day and to upload multimedia files such as photos, films or sound recordings. You can explore, edit or download your observations at any time and view them on a map. Moreover specific input masks for the recording of data from different species groups are available.

Your observation records and species determinations are checked by experts to ensure their accuracy before being transferred to the Museum’s database. As a registered user, you can explore the observation data of all other users as well as download your data.

The observation records entered on data.mnhn.lu will show on the map portal map.mnhn.lu after they have been transferred to the central database of the Museum.
